In Richmond, the local Sanitary District handles weekly garbage collection for houses from Tuesday to Friday. To pick up your trash, you need a big 90-gallon bin called a Rosie Roller.

And guess what? If you need more space, you can get a second bin added to your sewer bill for just an extra dollar a month.

Richmond’s Southside Transfer Station is open Monday through Friday from 6:30 AM–4:30 PM and Saturday from 8:30 AM–2 PM.

Richmond Bulk Trash Pickup

In Richmond City, garbage pickup for bulky items happens every two weeks, coinciding with your recycling week.

Place your larger items next to your regular trash bins the night before your scheduled trash day during your recycling week.
