1. Akron Trash Pickup Schedule 2024
The curbside residential collection begins at 4:30 am on your assigned day. Here’s how to find your collection day.

- You refuse collection and recycling day information will pop up
Click on “Get a calendar” to download the yearly calendar. The best thing is that you can set a reminder, never to miss your trash day in the future. Prior to your collection day, you’ll receive a message or call, as per your preference.
Akron Trash Pickup Rules
- Carts placed after the collection time will not be emptied.
- Only the city’s issued carts will be collected.
- The lid of the carts must close properly.
- You must roll back the carts after collection, no later than 6 pm on the same day.

On holidays, the trash pickup is delayed and pushed to the next day. Keep in mind that if the holiday fall on weekends, there will be no delay in service.
4. Akron Bulk Pickup Schedule
The city of Akron has the best bulky collection service, similar to the efficient system found in the Toledo trash schedule. You can dispose of your large items in two ways.
Weekly Large Item Pick Up – No Extra Charges
It is a free weekly service, and you can place heavy items next to your cart that are too large to put in. You don’t need any permission to place the below-listed items curbside:
- Furniture

- House doors, storm doors, and storm windows
- Bicycles
- Electronics
- Automotive tire (max four per year)
- Tree limbs and branches (no longer than 4 feet)

- Brush, wood, and branches (bundled, tied, and no longer than four feet long)

Special Bulk Volume Pickup
If you’re moving out or doing basement cleaning, then a special bulk pickup service is for you.
- Only three pickups are allowed per residential address in a year.
- You must pre-schedule your appointment at least one day prior to your regular refuse pickup day.
- You have to put all the heavy items, trash bags, and appliances to the curb by yourself.
- Residents must clean out any leftover dirt or debris.
- Call 311 or 330 -375 -2311 to schedule your next pickup.
Keep in mind that the city won’t collect construction debris or dead animals along with bulk trash.
