1. City Of Dallas Trash Pickup 2024

Till 2022, the residential trash was picked on four days. But the city hall decided to increase the number of days to five.

• Residential trash and recycling are picked up once a week.
• Heavy garbage of up to 10 cubic yards is allowed.
• Brush and large items are collected once a month.

Now the city is divided into 5 zones. Residents can know about their trash day by visiting the Dallas city hall website.

2. Set Your Garbage Day Reminder | No More Confusion

In December 2022, it was announced that Dallas’s changing its citywide trash pickup schedule starting from Dec 5. This news leaves many residents confused about their trash pickup schedule. 

Well, for Texas state, it is not something new. A similar thing happened with the Fort Worth city trash schedule when half of the residents left with delayed pickup.

That’s why it’s best to set up a reminder. Here’s how you can set it up;

Add your address to the city’s hall website and get your schedule.

2. Scroll down to a calendar and tap on the “get a reminder” icon.

3. Once you click on the icon, you’ll be redirected to the next page, where you can choose how you like to get a notification. I.e. by call or message alert. 

3. Dallas Trash Pickup Holidays

Usually, the sanitation administrative office is not closed on memorial Day, and the garbage is collected as usual. But there is a public holiday on Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, and New Year’s day.

Then, the trash and bulk pickup schedule is moved to the next day.

4. Dallas Bulk Trash Pickup

As mentioned earlier, the large trash is picked up only once a month. Up to 10 cubic yards of waste is allowed, but residents can also request 20 cubic yards once a year by calling 311 or by filling annual sanitation form.

• Residents must set out their bulky trash by 7:00 am by the Monday of their respective week.
• You can’t place your heavy waste near mailboxes, meters, electric wires, and close to the road.

Large and small household appliances, including refrigerators, Mattresses, carpets, regular furniture, fences, and mirrors properly wrapped, are allowed to be put in your big trash.

What Can’t Be Put In Dallas Bulk Garbage?

Any type of acid, lube, auto-mobile frames, batteries, bricks, concrete, rocks, explosives, and any fire hazard material is not accepted.

All types of fertilizers, oils, poisons, caustics, and automotive batteries are only accepted by Dallas Household Hazardous Waste Facility. 

How Do You Dispose Of Concrete In Dallas?

You can dispose of concrete at a local landfill site that accepts it. Usually, all private junk removers accept clean concrete landfill and heavy items.

5. Dallas Sanitation Schedule | Where To Damp Landfill?

The sanitation schedule was recently changed back in December 2022. Now, it is the same as your garbage schedule. 

• Dallas City Damp: Residents can now enter “McCommas Bluff Landfill” and get rid of their household and commercial waste.

For entrance to the site, you’ll need a valid driver’s license, and working hours are between 5:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. (Monday to Friday).
